  • Different Skin type’s : Different skin is allergic to different type of chemicals so if you are planning to use medications, please follow the instructions carefully.
  • Be careful while applying the medications make sure it doesn’t contact your eyes and nose, if you feel any kind of allergic contact your physician immediately.
  • Use dry towel or wash the lice infested areas before medications like lice shampoo, read the instructions carefully before apply it, drench carefully pubic hair, scalp or other lice infested areas.
  • Time is important, keep the medications till mentioned time frame, Do not wash it before the prescribed time frame.
  • Nits are attached to the hair, they can be remove easily by comb or fingernails.
  • Wash towel, bed sheets and other clothes that could have been infested, wash in hot water using soap to prevent further infestation.
  • Store other garments and items that cannot be washed or cleaned , keep it away from the host for at least weeks as lice takes two weeks to die without any host.
  •  Public lice can be transferred by having sex, inform the person about the problem if you had sex within 30 days with him/her.
  • If you detect lice on sensitive parts like eyebrows use hand or comb to remove that avoid using any medications on sensitive parts..

The head lice are normally like both clean and dirty hair.Head lice are the common type, which are holding tightly onto hair. They infest the head and neck .Adult lice stick their eggs to the hair shaft. They move by crawling and cannot fly or jump. Lice are a general problem, especially for kid’s ages 3-12 years. It is more often among girls than boys. Lice are not hazardous and never spread diseases. But, lice are infectious and just can be complete irritating. Child’s scalp to become itchy and red-looking by their bites .It can be lead to skin irritation and even bacterial infection. Therefore, it is good to treat for head lice speedily once the identification is made. Because, only young or adult  lice can be spread easily from person to person and direct head to head contact with a person who already has head lice. As well as, lice can easily travel from child to child. Electrostatic charge from combing dry hair may fling head lice up to 1 meter. The human lice never transmission by dogs, cats and other pets.
Although the irritation and frustration that go together with a head lice infestation. Many of us take some quiet that lice only like to nest in clean hair. But do they?
That head lice neither prefer to live in clean hair, nor is there many researchers suggested lice prefer dirty hair. According to the many researchers ideas, have found those;

  1. Head lice infestations are two to four times more common in girls’ long hair.
  2. They spread through head to  head contact (they spread through childcare centers, schools and families)
  3. Head lice cannot survive for too long off the head without host

But, there are a various kind of reasons, why they are difficult to treat.

  1. Head lice can be resistant to many insecticides which are designed to kill them.
  2. No any single product kills the lice and their nits at once.
  3. Toxic chemicals never apply on their heads or  child’s head by even infected people also
  4. Time wasting to comb hair in many times by tooth comb

There is no silver bullet for keeping hair clean, not washing hair or zapping head lice with a product. But, applying conditioner to shock the suckers while you comb them out is a good place to start than staying to new product reaching us.
Lice never like to alcohol mix sprays, such like hair sprays, applying dyes. They are gone away for those alcohols.
Head lice have a bit of real medical shock. Their feeding activity disturbs the scalp, which causes powerful itching. They don’t transmit any disease organisms, but a secondary infection may affect if the skin is broken by continuous scratching. Detecting head lice

There is the most effective way of detecting head lice. Conditioner and combing is the perfect and suitable technique for detection.

  • Straighten out dry hair with an ordinary comb.
  • Apply the hair conditioner to dry hair. The conditioner works by dazzling the lice and this happens best when the conditioner is thick. Cover the whole scalp properly with enough conditioner and all hair from the roots to tips.
  • Use an ordinary comb to evenly distribute conditioner, also divide the hairs into three or more sections using hair clips. You can use a mirror if you are combing yourself.
  • Change to a teeth comb.
  • Start with a section from the back of the head. Place the teeth of the comb flat against the scalp
  • Comb from the roots through to the tips.
  • Each section should be combed twice until the whole head is combed. When the comb becomes clogged, an old toothbrush, dental floss or a safety pin can be used to remove the head lice/eggs.
  • If you find head lice or eggs, decide on a treatment option.
  • If your choice is the conditioner and combing as a treatment, continuously comb entire head until all the hair conditioner is gone.
  •  Repeat the conditioner and combing technique every 2 days till the time you find no more live head lice for approximately 10 following days. By doing so, you can remove all the adult lice and also any young lice that hatch from the eggs.
  • Comb from beginning to end to spread evenly. Comb several times if hair is long.
  • Leave product in the hair for the time recommended by the manufacturer.

There are an effective ways of treating head lice. So, treatment options are there. It is necessary to check for correctness after each application of a chemical product. Some head lice are resistant to some chemical products.

  • Use only chemicals planned to treat head lice.
  • Apply chemical only if you actually find head lice.
  • Cover the child’s eyes.
  • Apply product to dry hair.
  • Apply product carefully to scalp and all hair from roots to tips.
  • Comb from beginning to end to spread evenly. Comb several times if hair is long.
  • Leave product in the hair for the time recommended by the manufacturer.

If the product you have used is effective, all the lice are dead. Then, use the same product every 7 days (maximum 3-4 times) to kill the lice hatching from the eggs. So, now you can use conditioner and combing technique to detect lice. If lice are found, apply product again.
The treatment product that you have used is ineffective, if some lice run around or sign their legs and antenna. You will need to choose a product with a variant active ingredient. Show the doctor your head lice record and ask for advice on choosing another treatment for head lice.
If the lice are in your eyelashes or eyebrows, you need to remove them carefully with your fingers. Sometimes, medicine that is safe for the eyes can be used.
After therapy with anti-lice medicine, the dead nits may still be on the hairs. All of them must be removed. Otherwise, if you observe nits several days post your treatment; you would not know if these are old dead nits or a new contamination. Use a nice fine-teeth comb, or fingers to remove the dead nits.
After the curing the hair and skin, the treatment of your environment, is equally important. All clothes, bed-sheets and towels must be washed properly. At times people are suggested to purchase a special lice insecticide spray for furniture. Although, careful vacuuming may be sufficient in major amount of cases.

Lice eggs hatch within 1 to 2 weeks after they’re laid. The term nit refers to:

  • either a louse egg
  • Viable eggs that will eventually hatch
  • bits and pieces of already-hatched eggs
  • Dead eggs that will never hatch

Head Lice Treatment

Home Remedies for Head Lice Treatment

    • 2 tablespoons Tea Tree Oil
      6 ounces Dawn Dishwashing Liquid (Dawn ONLY)
      2 ounces white vinegar
      Mix the three ingredients in a large squeeze bottle. Use as regular shampoo, leave on for about 5 minutes before rinsing. Use conditioner to soften hair and keep dandruff down. Tea Tree Oil may cause some dandruff, but the bugs will be gone. May use every day, and bugs are usually gone within a week. Be VERY CAREFULL not to get in eyes or mouth.
    • water (4 ounces)
      salt (1 Tablespoon)
      Dr Bronner’s 18-in-1 Peppermint Castile LIQUID soap (4 ounces)
      Paul Mitchell’s tea tree Shampoo (4 Tablespoons)
      Vinegar (1 Tablespoon)
      Dish soap (like Dawn) – (1 Tablespoon)
      Oregano Oil (16 drops – no more than this as it can have a hot/burning sensation – just 16 drops)
      Mix 4 ounces of warm water with 1 tablespoon salt until salt is totally dissoved. This is very important step as otherwise salt will not dissolve properly in shampoo, and it is needed to dehydrate lice and nits.

You can use medicated shampoo, cream rinse, or lotion to kill the lice but these products are not recomended as these medicines may have side effects.
We advice you to follow the instructions properly while using these products because they contain insecticides. Applying too much medication or using it too frequently; can cause harm to your hair or even the skin. Follow the instructions on the product label to ensure that the treatment works properly.

Preventing Lice

  • Avoid sharing personal articles such as combs, clothes and towels,hats
  • Keep examining your child’s hair for nits and lice
  • Examine all family memebers since lice are contagious,i.e if one have everyone in the family might get it.
  • Thoroughly cleaning of your bed spread as all members of your family would be utilizing it.
  • Wash your hair and dresses as soon as you’ve stopped by the beauty parlor
